Long Lake Park Reserve
Stockyard days began in 1981 as a way to recall the early days of New Brighton as a center for the cattle industry including the stockyards, railroads, fashionable hotels and meatpacking plants.
Today, Stockyard Days is a 8-day event held throughout New Brighton. Area merchants, businesses, and hundreds of volunteers participate in the run, concerts, tournaments, a parade, street dances, a carnival, live entertainment, food sampling, fireworks, the finish line of the Antique Car Run, a car show, and the Miss New Brighton & Junior Ambassador coronation. A medallion hunt is held, thousands of commemorative buttons are sold, and numerous prizes are raffled off. Goodwill Ambassadors are selected and happy memories of times spent with family and friends are taken away!
The location - Come and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Long Lake Regional Park and surrounding neighborhood. The event is part of New Brighton’s Stockyard Days, a community celebration which includes an Antique Car Run. After the run, stay for the arrival of the antique cars in the early afternoon at the park.
The course - Both the 5K and 10K are entirely in the park. The 10K does 2 laps of the 5K.
The Kids Fun Run will consist of a 1/4-mile run for the 5 and under kids and 1/2-mile run for older kids. Parents are free to register their children in either run.
